OVERVIEW
An old Kingdom that used demonic power in the Soul Wars. Ruled by the Demon King Rame, Wuuheim tipped the balance in the Soul Wars by discovering the power of Demonica.
But when Leocadius, Rame's son, deposed his father, he united the world under his kind rule, and Wuuheim prospered.
Trying to forget the travesties of times past, Wuuheim branched out into other Kingdoms, adding to their own strange and exotic culture.
Those of Wuuheim had a reputation for being friendly, and many heroes were of Wuuheim descent.
But when the Phantasm ascended, King Leocadius sacrificed his entire Kingdom in an attempt to destroy it, but failed.
And so Wuuheim fell, leaving only a single known survivor and the entrance to the Aeon Ruins.
One can only wonder how desperate he must have been to so callously gamble with the lives of his people...
CHARACTERS
LADY SKARUN OF WUUHEIM
Art by Krekian
Profile:
Lady Skarun was a hero of Wuuheim, who helped unite the Kingdoms following the war, becoming the king's right hand.
But she was an accomplice to atrocities in the Soul Wars, and refuses to forgive herself.
When Wuuheim was taken into the Aeon Ruins, she managed to cling to life, holing herself up in a glass cavern in the Desert in the Sky, far away from any of the other Kingdom representatives.
Quest:
Lady Skarun does not have a quest. However, she has a unique perspective on the other Kingdoms, and can be consulted for advice.
She can also make peace between Kingdoms if you are a champion, and teach you Wuuheim Demonica.
DIALOGUE
FIRST CONVERSATION
"I'd welcome you, but this is not my home. Nor is it anyone's, as far as I can tell. Not even for those shadows killing themselves out there."
"I am known as Skarun. But that name has little merit, especially here."
"If you're looking for treasure, I have none. And the knowledge I harbor will only bring you woe."
SECOND CONVERSATION
"You can't take a hint, can you? I want you to leave."
"Explore elsewhere, Explorer. You've reached a dead end here."
THIRD CONVERSATION
"By the gods, you must find pestering me fun. Whatever did I do to be cursed with such a piteous fate?"
"Fine, I will share with you my knowledge. This foul demon magic my Kingdom held so sickeningly dear."
"Take these Demonica from me, so they might fade further from my mind."
>Will now sell Wuuheim Demonica
(From here, she talks about different Kingdoms depending on which one you belong to. If you belong to no Kingdom, she talks about Wuuheim.)
TIOLEZ
"You've sworn fealty to the knights, have you?"
"They're loyal, I can say that much. Loyal, but stupid."
"You should've seen them during the war. Standing rank and file as they were slaughtered.
"But they always stood up again, even after death. They have their precious Beacons to owe for that."
DORAINE
"You say you're a Crusader, now? Don't make me laugh."
"Those Dorainian imbeciles do not discern between foe and bystander."
"Under their 'holy' justification, they could conquer the world if they wished."
"It was a blessing in disguise that they were destroyed first. Maybe that was God's will, eh?
YANNIA
"The Aeon Ruins are not a place to be studied or dissected."
"This is not a place of honor. It is less of a tomb than a dumping ground."
"Those mages could see the world and still miss what's in front of their faces."
"Don't fall into the same trap."
MOTUS
"You're a brave one, standing among those backstabbers."
"Though I suppose they aren't all bad. No one is truly defined by where they come from."
"Still, keep your wits about you. You've got a good head on your shoulders, and I'd hate to see it cut off."
"Maybe you'll end up being the one to whip them into shape?"
LENCOTER
"Oh, how dull. A blacksmith has come to town."
"Those smiths are always going on about how their work is honest and true, as if that made them better."
"They aren't so above it all. In the Soul Wars, they claimed neutrality, but sold weapons to both sides."
"They're thieves, just like the rest. But they stole something quite different."
QERO
"I never really trusted Qerans. One minute they're one thing, and the next they're another."
"It's like they can't decide who they really are. They were accused of being thieves, so they became as such."
"Perhaps they were simply happy to be acknowledged for something, and rose to the occasion."
"All those peculiar devices might just be an extended cry for attention."
ADDOL
"Ahaha, a servant of the flame stands before me! To what do I owe the honor?"
"Buffoons, the lot of them. The Blaze Knights thrive in battle but give no thought to what they are fighting for."
"Meanwhile, they turn a blind eye to their foul aristocracy. Do you truly think that Warrior-King is the true power behind the throne?"
"When their flame burns out of control, it will consume them first."
VESTUM
"Ugh. You stink of demons. Have you been associating with those mad folk?"
"Do what you want. I have no right to question your motives."
"They have power, and power is all that matters in this living nightmare, isn't it?"
"When you see Elizabeth, you tell her... no, never mind. It doesn't matter anymore."
YUHO
"You've chosen the path of selflessness. Good for you."
"When I first came to Yuho, I was in tatters. I didn't expect them to forgive me for what I had done."
"But they did more than forgive me. I was ready to give in, to throw it all away. They mended me."
"I owe them my life. Stand proud among them, Explorer."
WUUHEIM (WHEN NOT A MEMBER OF ANY KINGDOM)
"I see. You're an outcast, like me. I suppose you wish to ask me about Wuuheim?"
"There's not much to say. It was home. Before the war, it was calm, peaceful. After the war..."
"Well, things never really did go back to normal. It's hard to say how it changed."
"It was... emptier. More stagnant. It wasn't really home anymore."
WUUHEIM 2
"I often saw King Leocadius as a child. We were the same age, but we did not truly meet until the war ended."
"Next to his father, Demon King Rame, the Prince was little more than a timid speck."
"One day he began flinching when the King touched him, and I never knew why."
"The people cared for him more than anything. He was the mascot of the war effort, until he ended it."
WUUHEIM 3
"We became friends after the war. I helped his majesty rebuild, spread peace. For me, it was atonement."
"But he made me a hero in the eyes of the people. A figurehead, with spreading rumors of my valor."
"But they were all false. Me and my sister, together we did the most horrible things with our foul spells..."
"How do you forgive yourself? When you watch the light leave a child's eyes? When you hold it in your hands, and extinguish it simply so you can take another?!"
"..."
"I am half-sick of shadows... be they memory or falsehood. Unite the Kingdoms, Explorer, and rid me of both."
WUUHEIM ONWARDS
"I am half-sick of shadows... be they memory or falsehood. Unite the Kingdoms, Explorer, and rid me of both."
SPECIAL DIALOGUE
GREETING
"Hello again, Explorer. If you're looking for peace of mind, you've come to the wrong place."
INTERRUPTED MENU
"If you were just going to leave, why did you even bother coming?"
FAREWELL
"May your visits be short and your absences long."
WEHN YOU ARE A CHAMPION
"Ah... how radiant. Not since Leo have I met someone who had such an aura of admiration."
"You must have proven yourself well to your Kingdom. A loyal subject indeed."
"With our voices as one, we might serve as the rallying cry. The cry of unity."
WHEN MAKING PEACE BETWEEN KINGDOMS
"The Body shapes the Mind. The Mind uplifts the Soul. And the Soul rejuvenates the Body."
"By the Demon's rite and the Mortal's will, we break the black chains of hatred."
"Begone!"
AFTER MAKING PEACE
"I could not be more proud. This day, even as the world crumbles, we have made a small difference."
"Take this. The armor of the hero."
>Given the Royal Wuuheim Set
"It fits you much better than I."
